Working While Studying – Mia’s Experience
My name is Mia Roman, I am a marketing assistant at UK Management College and a student. Throughout my student life, I’ve held a variety of jobs, gained experience in many fields, and discovered what I like to do the most.
Currently, I am in Year 3 of studying Business and Management and from my own experiences, I’ve found that maintaining a healthy work-life balance at the university level is not difficult. I say this from personal experience since I was able to successfully maintain either part-time or full-time employment during all my years as a student.
To be able to work, I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful schedule at university, which allowed me to work. You will also benefit if you apply via us, with the criteria being just two days a week, weekdays, weekends, nights, or mornings, whatever might be convenient for you.
After working at the UK Management College for the past four months, I would like to share some of my reflections and experiences here. The team had a personality that made the workplace feel very welcoming and comfortable. I feel I had a better idea of what office jobs are like, which shifted my mindset to be more open to the idea of it.
The staff had a personality that made the workplace feel really friendly and comfortable. As a result, I felt that I had a better concept of what it’s like to work in an office, which transformed my mentality to be more open to the possibility of working in an office.
During these months, I gained a substantial amount of knowledge in a variety of sectors that I was unaware even existed, and I’m going to suggest that the reason for this is the extensive range of tasks I had been assigned to do.
I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with various lovely and inspiring people who all worked in different departments. This turned out to be what I enjoyed the most, as I feel that I gained knowledge from practical tasks significantly faster.
After the entire experience at UK Management College, I can confidently say I am even more interested in marketing and would like to pursue a career down that road. I believe that by having explored more paths within the marketing world during my experience, I am more knowledgeable, which in turn has made me more confident in my feelings about marketing and more determined in my choice to pursue it as a potential career in the future.
Now, as a student in my last year, I am grateful enough to get the ideal career that I have always desired.
The great majority of us are forced to look for employment in order to make it through our time as students and must maintain the expectation that we will have professional opportunities when we graduate. Since I’ve been a student for three years at this point, the most important piece of advice I can provide is to always keep in mind where your primary attention should be directed.
Attending university and having a job may be an effective strategy for ensuring financial stability. Finding that happy medium might be a bit difficult, and it’s not something that everyone should strive for.
This is my experience; I would love it if you would share yours in the comments section.
